Asheville Citizen reports that Thomas Ruppe Capps in killed a 130-pound tear lay in the Avery’s Creek area isgah National Forest. Ellis M. Coggins of Saluda killed a deer on the same hunt. There were 14 deer and only one bear killed by the group of hunters Monday. The hunt will last three days Here at Tryon a fox ran across the yard at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Hair on Lynn, road Monday night. Rabbits,'quail, chipmunks and hundreds of birds are seen or heard right on Trade Street. This is a wild country. .... Tryon High School Juniors are giving a square dance Wed nesday night. Thanksgiving ser vices will be held Thursday morn ing. A tallent prograf will be given two nights next week, on Friday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 1, at 8 o’clock each night. Tallented young people from all over Polk County will contribute to the program to give the audience more than its money’s worth, according to the di rector of the program. The admis sion of 30c and 60c will be used to go toward the purchase of equip ment. The Tryon P.-T. A. is spon soring the project. I - __ Congressman Jones Here Congressman Woodrow Jones will address a meeting of Liberty Life Insurance Agents tonight at Sun nydale following a dinner meeting at 6:30. About 25 agents will be present as well as President Fran cis Hipp and Vice President Her man M. Hipp, both of Greenville. Arledge Picked for Bowl Thomas Arledge, fullback for the Tryon High School Tigers has been selected 'to play on the Eas tern squad against the Westerners in the fifth annual Optimist Bowl game played in Asheville Nov. 30. The squads are composed of the outstanding Seniors of the Western North Carolina High Schools. PHIPPS MAKES GOOD Tryon television fans report their enjoyment of Thomas W. Phipps' original plays which are presented every Friday night for one hour from New York City and sent out in this section over WBTV, Charlotte.
